How about.

Don't hit the golfballs into their back garden???? They didn't sign up for people to hit shots at their houses.

How about.

Because I'm sure everyone that has ever hit a golf ball into someone's back yard did it on purpose?

Please note he's from Ireland. He may not realize just how many, and how close to the course US Golf Course houses are.

Over there they worry over possibly hitting livestock.

True, I play in NC as well (Fayetteville area Baywood my home course) and I probably hit one in the yard every other time I go play..

People who throw their clubs and yell. Its just so immature and ends up bringing down the attitude of the group.

People who search waaaaayyyy entirely too long for a ball they lost in the high grass or in the woods.

reading posts about pet peeves on golf courses. we all do something that annoys others.

I agree but I still have to contribute.....my biggest pet peeve is when I'm on a crowded course that is playing fairly slow and there is no where to go and the group behind you is running up your butt like you are holding up the show....

All good points. However no one mentioned the guy in the group in front of you who is waiting for the green to clear when he needs to carry the ball 250 yards and he hasn't hit a ball that far all day including has tee shot. When he finally does play his shot he tops it.

Not a peeve mine - I'm hoping that guy tops it. I may tell him, "good effort", but then I think, "no, that was a very bad effort!".

Man, I just took up golf but I've been reading so many threads where it seems folks do things specifically designed to provoke a physical confrontation, possibly hurt someone else, or just generally act like high school kids that I am feeling like this was the wrong sport to hope to find relaxation, fun, and commeradie doing!

Too soon to tell but I might have a new obsession.

I like that you think with an exclamation point-the image is cracking me up!

older women on the golf course....

you know the type, have no idea of golf etiquette, take 15 min on each hole without allowing anyone to play through...

There's not a whole lot that bothers me but I can't stand when people walk or drive a cart behind me when I'm swinging. The other thing is if I'm riding and the person driving constantly pulls up with in 3 feet of my ball and expects me to hit with the cart there.

better to be safe, how does waiting a minute or so really matter. If someone told me "hurry up and hit, you wont hit them"...Ill politely ask them to go play there ball. Ive given up honors, just so I dont land the green. Get this...Im not worried about hitting someone on the green, Im worried that they'll take my ball. when it happens to you its a round destroyer and its happened to me 3x.

Actually, I very much enjoy that guy. Aren't we all rooting for him to top it?

    • The highlights as I see them: Championship and Challenger Series The creation of the PGA Tour and the PGB Tour, in the words of Joel Dahmen a few years ago. They're calling them the Championship Series (23-24 events) and the Challenger Series (20+ events). Both run February to August. They feel this will achieve three things: increasing the consistency and quality of fields across the season creating a clear system for players to earn and retain status and delivering a more structured and competitive experience for fans and partners—all in an effort to strengthen meritocracy. Championship Series Structure and Eligibility The 23-24 events includes the Players, majors, season-ending events, and the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. These will be 72-hole events with a 36-hole cut to the top 65 and ties and purses of $20M+. 120 players without an alternate list. 90 players (roughly) from the previous year and 20 players promoted from the Challenger Series. Full eligibility will be finalized later this year. Sites (cities) to be finalized soon, but 10 of the 15 courses have already been determined. Postseason: includes retention and relegation and concludes with match play. The Tour Championship will also be played across a rotation of prestigious courses. Challenger Series Structure and Eligibility 20+ events. Running concurrently. Will feature players fighting their way back to the Championship Series or players graduating and on the upswing from the Korn Ferry Tour. Many of these events will be current PGA Tour courses. About 7 of the Challenger Series events will be during off weeks for the Championship Series with elevated purses and visibility. Purses of at least $4M, with cuts similar to the Champ series. 144 player fields. Competitive Fields for Both Series Players will be eligible for only one series at a time: Championship Series Players are not eligible for Challenger Series events. Championship Series members will have a known schedule with all events having the same eligibility. Players and Majors will have their own eligibility criteria. Championship Series players don't have to play all events. This begs the question about, say, the Canadian Open, and other "home-town" events that players might want to play, even if they're Challenger Series events. Will releases be granted? Promotion and Relegation At least 90 players will be retained in the Championship Series, and 20 players will be promoted from the Challenger Series each year. Battlefield promotion for two-time winners from the Challenger Series. Players relegated from the Championship Series will have a "last chance" opportunity to retain status, or will go to the Challenger Series. Criteria will be finalized before the start of the 2027 season. Points System New points system (not FedExCup points). Separate points systems for the Championship and Challenger Series. Elevated points in the Challenger Series for off-weeks on the Championship Series. More details tk. Elevated International Events in the Fall The fall schedule will include a limited series of elevated international events with top players from the Championship Series, with the intent to deliver in partnership with the DP World Tour as part of the Strategic Alliance. Last Chance Series The Tour will develop a “last chance” series of 4-6 events in the fall, with a limited number of spots on the Championship Series available for top finishers. Eligibility will include players relegated from the Championship Series, Challenger Series players, and other categories to be determined. Q-School continues, as do the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Also, Brian Rolapp is the new commissioner as of January 1, 2027.

    • Yes, because you have lifted to like 120° without bending the left elbow. So when you turn and the left elbow bends… it bends in such a way that you then lower your left humerus and pull the club around you.
