Lately my range sessions have been really good and highly productive. My last 2 rounds have been good, for my level, and I feel like I am confident with my swing. However, this morning I started doing something weird and I'm not sure why. About half way through my session, without thinking about it, started bringing my arms too far inside on the backswing and then my brain was telling my hands to turn over on the downswing (I'm assuming because there was no way at this point to get the club square without doing so). I started hooking balls, which I haven't done in a good period of time. Normally, my backswing is pretty solid, down the target line and wide leading to me not having to make much, if any, movement with my hands coming through the ball.

Is this just a product of going through technique changes recently and still trying to train the brain to do what it needs to do or what? I damn near panicked out there!

I know because I have a thread going asking for more consistency I probably shouldn't be giving much advice but I've definitely been there at times so I'll have a go.

Are you just mishitting one and then immediately grabbing another ball, lining up, and hitting it? Just one after another trying to make alterations on the fly in your mind? I think you should take a few practice swings after each mishit slowly at first and then up to full speed showing your ideal swing path. So if you are going too far inside just work on not doing that on your practice swings and then step up to the ball and you'll be more relaxed and more in control. Going from bad shot to bad shot on the range is frustrating (for me at least) and I tend to keep mishitting and keep getting sloppier if I don't take a deep breath and refocus myself.
