Ok, first off this is my first thread and this might be a silly question but I just recently bought a set of mizuno mp68s. 3-pw, I love the irons but when I first bought them and went to my weekly lesson the pro checked the lie angle really quick at the start with my 6 iron. He told me to have them bent 2* up from where they were and I ran across the street to have them bent before getting into my lesson. When I got there the lie angles were all different. pw-8 or so were standard then 7 was 1* from standard. The 6 iron was 2* from standard. 4-5 were 3* from standard and the 3 iron was 4* up from standard. This was from the factory.

The guy that bent them for me said that they do that from the factory to help players that slice the ball. He said that all of my irons should be bent to the same lie angle and because of the different angles he would bend them to 3*. So now all of my irons are 3* upright. Should I have them rebent to 2* upright from the factory specs for mizuno irons? I hit them well and accuracy is pretty decent but if bending them to what the pro told me will help then obviously I want to bend them to that.

Also the pro that I get lessons from is a club fitter for mizuno....

If your pro is a club fitter for mizuon, why aren't you asking him?

You should have seen what the 6 iron was, then had him bend everything so it was 2 upright from that.

In my bag:

Driver: Titleist TSi3 | 15º 3-Wood: Ping G410 | 17º 2-Hybrid: Ping G410 | 19º 3-Iron: TaylorMade GAPR Lo |4-PW Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo | 54º SW, 60º LW: Titleist Vokey SM8 | Putter: Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7

so I am correct in that not all the clubs will have the same lie angle then. And I am asking here because the pro was the one that confused me to begin with. Ill just get the factory specs off of mizuno and take them somewhere else and have them bend them 2* up from those specs.

Mizuno's are flatter than most brands. Try looking up the specs of a few different brands to compare. You will also see that the progression from 3iron to wedge also varies slightly brand to brand.
Driver: Callaway Diablo Edge 10*
Woods: Mizuno F-60 (15*, 18*); Hybrids: Callaway FT-iZ 21*, Callaway X 24*
Irons: Mizuno MX 25 (5I - GW)
Wedges: Mizuno MP T Chrome (56/10), MP T-10 Black Satin (60/8)
Putter: Odyssey White Hot Tour #9

Can't you just sit down with your pro and have him explain it to you until you understand? It seems that you trust his judgement, so go with what he has to say no? Don't be shy to tell him you don't 100% understand what he's saying. I donno, just my opinion!

Cheers,

haha yeah I do trust him and thats what I did only thru email. I took my irons today with the factoy specs and told the guy to bend them 2 up from the numbers on the sheet that I brought in so I am good to go now. Thanks guys!

Why? Only the club fitter will know what lie angle is right for each particular swing.

    • Day 22: mirror work for a while. Working on my elbow in the downswing - keeping it in a better position.
    • Day 36 (16 Dec 25) - continued the exaggerated left foot weight shift trigger adding some easy low flighted pitches with the 5h and a few putting style bump and runs with the 5h as well.
    • Day 442 - 2025-12-16 Got some swings in at an indoor academy a little south of Erie.
    • Has anyone played the new Maxfli forged irons? For the first time in I don't know how many years, they have come out with new clubs. From what I read, Maxfli was bought by Taylor Made a long time ago which then took all of their ball making technology and patents in order to get into that market. The club business was left to whither and the reorganized company, now a part of Dicks / Golfworks / Maltby, is producing these new clubs. (Their Tour X balls which I play are really good.) Anyway, I tried them both out at Golf Galaxy. There's a player's distance iron (XC-3) and a blade (XC-2) and both feel really, really nice, almost "Mizuno-like" in their soft buttery feel and they're a bargain at $800 for a set. I'm planning to ditch my Titleist's and want to go back to a forged iron. I almost pulled the trigger on the Mizuno Pro-245's last summer, but a damaged tendon sheath in my finger combined with a back injury messed up my golf game so I held off. Now the Pro-245's are no longer available, soon to be replaced by the MX-15. (At twice the price of the Maxfli's...that's what got my attention in the first place.) If anyone has played with the new Maxfli's or just tried them out like I did, let me know what you think.
    • Day 126 12-16 Back swing and rotation work today. Didn't hit any balls. Focusing on rotating and getting to lead side.
