Keeping hands dry?

I've seen quite a few threads about playing in the heat and my biggest problem is keeping my hands dry. I take my glove off in between shots and the biggest problem is on my short wedge shots, which I like to play w/o glove. No matter how much I dry my hands on my towel...by the time I set up and grip the club... my left hand feels sweaty and I don't have the "tacky" feel on the grip that I like. I feel like I'm gripping too tightly. Any tricks I might be missing out on?

Keep a small hand towel with you and get it wet with cold water, and keep it cold with the water jug or ice water from the drink cart. Use it to wipe your hands before your shot. The cold towel will cool your hands enough so that they don't sweat for a few minutes and they will be dry when you hit your shot. It works best when really hot so that any moisture from the towel will dry off quickly, but occasional you need to dry off you hands. Either way, your hands won't be sweating since they have been cooled off.

I have the same problem with sweaty hands and this is the best thing I have found to do. And it doesn't cost a thing. On the really hot days I will go as far as wrapping my right hand in the towel inbetween shots and my hand never sweats.

I haven't really figured out any kind of secret process. It's been hot as hell, and humid, in Richmond so I've been trying to figure out what to do.

Here's what I've found. You need to find a super absorbent towel. I have a bunch of golf towels, and a lot of them just smear sweat/water around and don't absorb. Find a plain white locker room towel, or one from a motel...the ones that have been bleached a thousand times are so dried out they'll absorb a ton of water and they're thin so they dry out quick. I just lay it on my bag as I walk to help it dry, then get to the shot and dry my hands and forearms with it then hit the shot. On 100* days, I'm a mess out there, but this works.

Maybe "ShamWow" would work?! I like the cold towel idea too...anything but what I'm dealing with.

I've never tried it, but I would bet keeping a bottle of talcum powder (or whatever that white powder is) with you. If weight lifters use it to hold 300+ pound weights, I think it would work to keep a good grip on a golf club.

Use a rosin bag. Nothing keeps hands dry as well as those do.

This could work. They use chalk, but I'm not sure you'll want to be chalking up before very swing and then get that chalk all over your clubs and inside your gloves :/

I like the cold water towel idea. I haven't had this problem yet, but I'm sure it'll come along since I tend to sweat quite a bit. Cheers,

Use 4 gloves and rotate them. Other than that, I haven't found the cure either.

Try the Frogg Toggs chilly pad. It will keep you cool & dry.

I've never used that product but I have used a similar one. I can highly endorse the product concept, if not that specific brand.

Hot and humid days are my nemesis. My hands always seem to be slightly slick but not totally wet. That dry hand cream is great. Not tacky and no residue. It just keeps your hands dry in the worst of the summer humidity. One application lasted 18 holes.

I was dying at +6 through 5 until this guy in my foursome saw me constantly wiping my hands. He offered to let me try that cream and I proceeded to play the next 13 in one over. No more grip problems whatsoever.

Needless to say, I've been trying to find that product since. Funny enough, searches on the internet have shown that (gulp) strippers and other pole dancers are a major target demographic for this stuff!

haha yea i have been trying to find this "stripper lotion" everywhere but with no luck, does anyone happen to know where i can get them? or is it pretty much an online only deal.
