And when I say too difficult, I'm talking about the mid teen HCP'ers and up. I'm talking about the weekend warriors who don't have the time to "master" a 60*.

When it comes to pitching/chipping any mishit results in about the same problem. You have to hit it again. I can see where the average amateur scooper/flipper should not touch this club but if you use the club correctly it is generally easy to hit and has less distance reprocussions than some other clubs. You know the reason you use it is the same reason I, the high handicapper uses it. It hits high a stops shortly after it lands.

I use my mat in the back yard and pick a target to hit, I know that if it was a green I would do the same and gauge the green speed on the course. So it is not a hard club to practice with either.

UGh...

I gave my GF one of those expensive charm bracelets for her birthday 3 months ago with about 6 charms that cost about 50+$ each. I noticed yesterday that it had a new chain instead of the leather band the one I gave her came with. Well she lost the entire thing and replaced it thinking I didnt know, I was kinda pissed that she would do that. But said that the bracelet meant alot to her and she was upset she lost it. I was upset she spent another 300+$ on the thing.

I'm of the mindset that MOST amateur golfers SHOULDN'T even carry a 60*. The risk and difficulty of hitting a 60* isn't worth the potential rewards, IMO.

I replaced my 60/07 with a 58/08 .... I know it is just 2* ..... but somehow a lot easier to hit well (and I replaced the 56/14 with a 54/11) ......

Same brand wedges or did you switch brands when going from 60 to the 58? I ask because I was using cleveland cg-14 60* and had a really difficult time getting clean contact with them and switched to a vokey 60* and it was literally night and day. Perhaps it was a difference in bounce as well since the clevelands typically have a higher bounce for their "standard" vs other brands, but nevertheless, without making that change, i definitely wouldn't be using my 60* for most shots inside of 80 yards as i do now.

try calling the pro shop to see if someone was kind enough to turn in your 60. next time leave half the club on the putting green exposed so it is impossible to forget any clubs in the future. I would replace the 60.

So....

4 weeks later and I just called the pro shop...no wedge. I am still baffled. O well. I went ahead and got a 52 and 64, so now I have 47, 52, 56, 64. The gaps are pretty nice now, but I was money with that 60, so it is still sad.

I don't really think a 64 is necessary. A 60 will work just fine and give you more options from the fairway than a 64. You'll be able to use it from the sand (a 64 tends to have little less bounce) and hit a flop shot just as easily. Otherwise, you could always buy a 3 wood if you feel that the club will help you.

I struggle to play my 56 from a tight lie, whereas my 60 has very low bounce and its much easier to hit

    • Yeah.  As far as remaining still, I was thinking body rotates around the spine like an axis.  Instead of pivoting, some like me, sway, come off that axis, leave weight on back foot, etc.
    • I apologize on behalf of… idiot men. Sorry about that. Next time, tell the guy to shut up. 😛  Day 553, May 8, 2024 18 holes from the whites with @rwolfe. Windy AF today, but hit some good shots. Slid back a little from where I was the previous two days, but… I can get it back. Made a pretty nifty birdie on 12 from some pretty odd places. 😄
    • The angles look fine. Get as much light as you can on the area — you want the highest shutter speed you can get. Less blur.
    • Snap @ Tour Spoon! Birdied 11 yesterday. Hit a poor iron ,stopped on edge of bunker , pitch with my lob wedge landed about 6’ away and went in. Only 12 & 14 to go, long par5’s into the prevailing wind. Might be waiting a while although I did have about 15’ on 12 after the birdie on 11, didn’t miss by much.
    • Tested the Maxfli TourS yesterday. Compared to my former ball, the Titleist AVX, I got an extra 10 yards off the driver and half a club (5-7 yards) off the irons. The combined extra yardage from the driver and fairway wood meant that on par-5s where I usually hit an 8-iron third shot, I hit a PW. It's just a smidgen softer than the AVX and seems to spin well. Some of the reviews indicated a low ball flight, but I did not notice it. I also did not observe any problems with the paint quality, which was an issue with previous Maxfli models up to and including the U series.  My previous round I tested the Bridgestone E6, a two-piece ball with a different cover. It was OK; the same distance and feel as the AVX but with less spin.
