Hi all,

I've checked out some of the other threads on putting and couldn't find the answer to this specific question so I thought I'd open a new topic.

I have been practicing putting at home on the rug and have been hitting into another ball. I think this helps with all aspects of putting besides reading the green, but I would like to buy something like this http://www.tgw.com/customer/category...6/refScid/1363 (its an automatic return putting green). I think this might make things a bit more fun.

Do you guys think these are any good? My concerns are it won't help with alignment because it would be easy to line up due to the parallel lines from the edge of the green and I don't know how the hill before the end of the cup would affect my muscle memory in judging how hard to hit a putt at certain distances.

Thanks for your help

i bought one and it broke after 10 putts

I wouldn't get one at all. Even if it claims to be high quality, it's probably not worth it. Continue putting to a mug on a rug.

I'm new to the sport, but for me when it comes to putting the toughest part is reading the greens and knowing how to line up and how much force to use given the layout of the green. I bought a cheaper product for putting practice and after an hour was able to hit it 9 of 10 pretty consistently from 8 ft away on carpets, but it didn't translate well on real greens.
