Upgrading shafts

I'm looking to upgrade shafts and I would like to know if the Dynamic Gold shafts are pretty good. I know Project X shafts are up there with playability and price so I'm looking for something not too pricey but that will still perform well. I am using regular shafts right now and I can hit my 7 iron about 170-180 (TM Tour Burners).

I just feel like my ball flight is inconsistent and when I hit my friends 5.5's I felt more stable all the way through.

* What shaft should I go with? S200, S300 or S400?
And how much will it run me? Just a rough estimate..

P.S. I switched drivers from the 09 Burner to the SQ Dymo STR8 fit with a 69 series shaft and it feels way better.

Get fitted for a shaft. It's the only way to go. Many, myself include, feel that the Dynamic Gold is one of the best golf shafts that you can buy. However, if it doesn't fit your swing, it's not going to perform. Get fitted for sure.

How much is it go get fitted usually?

That depends on where you end up going. Most shops that I've been to will offer a free fitting if you end up buying something from them.

I use an independent club shop that does all the work for the green grass operations in town. Just make sure that he is legit. You may want to call up one of the pros at the local course and ask who they recommend.

So I got fitted for Project X 6.0's, Dynalite S300's, and KBS S shafts, I swing a 6 iron at 91 MPH. I hit a Burner 6 iron with DG S300 in it and loved the ball flight and trajectory with the shaft. I took it out to the range and was able to compare; no more leftward shots but straighter!!

Do it in the dirt. See if you can catch a couple "Demo Days" and pay attention to the shafts.

I'd second the fitting. Find a shop that has the Mizuno Shaft Optimizer. Swing it and down load the information and it will suggest shaft(s) for your swing.

I am currently playing the same shafts DG s300 and have similar swing speed for a six iron and love trajectory that I can get with a variety of shots. These shafts are a solid performer and were the tour standard for many years (still found in many bags).
