Recieved my new irons(Mp-52 3i-PW DG S300) a few weeks ago and couldnt be more pleased. After a few secessions at the range I have to say they feel great, still working on consistancy due to them being a half inch longer and 2* upright. I have played 4 rounds with them so far, and the long irons are a joy to hit, all irons are dead straight were you aim. A better review to come once I get more accustomed and some more rounds under my belt with these.

great to hear you like them... I'm thinking about adding the 3,4, and 5 irons to my bag, just for the extra forgiveness and higher launch in the longer irons.

Cheers, Allan

@ PXC Yeah I previously played a box set of Top Flites, so this is my first real set of irons, so I dont even want to start to try and compare the two(apples and oranges).
@ Cylone98, yeah I had them fitted to my swing
@ Kurtomatic, yeah I'm in the Marines, living on Foster, just let me know when you want to go out. I'm going to try and go this Sunday or Monday.

Cool the wife just got a job at Community Bank on Camp Foster starts Monday...what courses do you play? Taiyo is frickin hard and I lose a lot of balls as I'm not willing to chase into the woods after them with the Habu snake signs everywhere... Fairways aren't very forgiving there I'm sure you know what I mean... Not sure if you noticed how hard the greens are there either... I have a helluva time stopping balls on the green without rolling them up... I'm sure once the course ages a little it will soften up as it's pretty new...Banyan tree course is a little more forgiving and is in pretty good shape... Works been busy so I havnt gotten to play in nearly 4 weeks:( what do you do at foster? Pm me your number and we'll get together and play...I havn't tracked my scoring since arriving here and I'm sure my handicap has gone way up as my scores arent nearly the same with not playing often and no practice...once I get checked out at work I'll be playing more as my days off will stagger and I'd much rather play during the week rather than the weekend maddness here at the course

No not bad for us...the courses I play are military owned are are both under 30 bux with cart for 18 even on weekends depending on your rank...higher rank=more you pay....Taiyo a course off base owned by the Marines cost me like 27 dollars and I saw the rates the locals pay like 8000 yen ie ~$90

cool I have some friends stationed at Bragg and I just PSCed here a couple months ago from Seymour Johnson AFB just down the road from you in NC

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
