Wristy Swing, good or bad?

I played with 2 low handicappers a day or two ago (4 and 5 handicap)

They both had a similar swing, They go back quickly using a lot of wrist hinge and go back to about 80% of the way and the do a violent hip turn and smack the ball miles, they were hitting 200 yard 6i's.

I've tried this swing at the range. 1 out of 3 times I hit the ball well. When I do the ball rockets 15 yards further than normal.

I'm just wondering though, is this actually a good move to try and copy? Or will it just lead to bad habits later?

The same thing has been happening to me

I have started cocking early and releasing later with my driver and have easily gained 20 yards with the extra lag

As long as you bend the right wrist and keep the left wrist flat, not rolling either, I don't think it will hurt you. The end result is probably more forward lean on the shaft at impact, which creates more speed.
