If there were a way for a good pro to take over your body and make a proper swing and at the same time, you were conscious of your physical movements (made by the pro), do you think that would change golf instruction and as a result, golfers would be alot better and handicaps would drop significantly?

I think that we already have something - a human instructor that can put you in the proper positions.

The problem with a machine - the same as with a human - is that we have to push or pull. For example, to move your hips forward on the downswing, we either push the right hip or pull the left hip... but neither involves you doing much with your muscles. We can push or pull your hands back on plane, but the golfer isn't using his muscles to do it. If we could literally "take over someone's body" or whatever you're trying to get at, then I think it could be effective, sure. But it's not possible. Not now, and not in 5-10 years (I'm optimistic when it comes to technology ).

Yeah, machine is a bit misleading in terms of a physical construct - I meant more like the pro through whatever, wifi, electric signals, a la the movie "Ghost", literally has control of your body while you're conscious.

I definitely understand that a pro can put you in the right position, but he can't easily mimic all the parts of the body moving or at least not in a way obvious to the student.

I guess what I'm getting at is I think that golf instruction, most instructors, based on my own experience, aren't that effective - not saying that about anyone here, but based on the instructors I've had lessons from.

I think if someone made the correct motions using my body and I was aware of it, it would really flatten the learning curve. Or I have a decent swing now. If me, now, could make me, total beginner, make a good swing, wouldn't golf be so much easier to learn?

What about the Drastic Sociological effects of such a machine??????????? When does the instructors control of your body end? What are the ramifications of mis-deads carried out by your body whether or not you are the one controling it? Omg I just came up with an idea for a smash hit movie!
