I currently play the 08 burner 3 wood and have the stock 49g shaft in stiff flex. It feels to light for me and i think i would be better off with something heavier.

I found a nice Aldila VS Proto 'By You" shaft but it is 85 grams. this is quite a bit heavier than what I'm used to and I think it will give me a much lower ball flight. I hit my 3 wood about 210-220 with a mid trajectory I'd say. I get a lot of spin but I'm also using a prov1 so i figure that contributes to it also.

I would like to know anyone's opinion of this shaft, if they have used it in a fairway wood, and whether or not this would be a good change. the shaft is only 30 dollars, a new grip would be 8 max and i could get a free installation for both so cost isn't really a big factor.

I had a Ping Rapture 3wd with that shaft factory installed. I really didn't get low flight from it, more a nice mid trajectory.

Went to a manufacturer's rep night Thursday at local golf shop. Discussion went to to Burner drivers and woods. Burner has based its design on light heads, light shafts, and light swingweight the last few years.

So, an 85 gram shaft would increase the overall weight of your Burner 3W, but probably wouldn't influence the swingweight.

You might look at some lead tape buttons if you actually want a little more swingweight. These are thicker than flat tape, and come in graduated weights. Many golf shops carry one or two brands now.
