hands down the best fairway woods i've used in awhile. replaced both callaway x-tour fw's with the titleist 909f3. There's not anything unique about it that makes it absolutely amazing. it's just an overall smooth, long fairway wood. the Voodoo shaft is awesome. keeps my ball flight relatively low and long.

They also sound terrific on well struck shots!

Well I just got back from a terrible driving round. After realizing I was getting nowhere, I decided to start hitting all my tee shots with my 909 F2 15.5*. Long and straight off the tee, did not miss one fairway from 12 to 18, hitting 6/6 FIR. I was only about 20 yards short of my well struck driver shots and put myself in great positions to attack the pins. Apart from sounding great at impact, it's also easy to shape and has a nice high ballflight. Great looking clubhead and great to hit off the tee. Nothing to complain about for me.

I use the 906F 19*. I know it isn't as new, but its the same series. I can tell you that they are not the most forgiving clubs out there, but they have the best feel and most consistency when you hit them correctly. I prefer them to the PING G15 hybrid when it comes to feel...and if you've ever hit one of those, you know thats saying a lot.

I have the 909F2 and really like it. I like the F2 more than the F3 simply because it has a shallower face so it's a little easier to hit from the fairway, I think. Can't go wrong with either of them though. Really can't go wrong with any Titleist club. The fairway wood models that were out before the 909's are very good also and you can get them very cheap these days.

    • Although the base rules don't make this really clear, the Player must have decided to use Unplayable Ball relief before lifting the ball.  This exact situation is discussed in the Committee Procedures section of the Rules, section 6C(8).  Section 6C addresses how to rule when a Player proceeds under a Rule that does not apply.  Note that 9.4 applies, 9.4 deals with a player moving his ball when no rule allows it.   Rule 9.4 penalizes the Player for lifting his ball when not permitted by the Rules, and requires him to replace it.  Since he dropped and played from a different place, the Wrong Place penalty applies.  As for a serious breach, that would only apply if the Wrong Place gave him a really significant advantage.  Since he could have taken Unplayable Ball relief in essentially the same spot, for just 1 penalty stroke, the Wrong Place penalty of 2 strokes is enough "punishment", there's no need to consider a DQ.
