Help picking new irons for friend....

Hey everyone I have a friend at work that wants to buy her boyfriend some new irons for a gift....He likes the brand taylormade, and is just an amature hacker like the rest of us.....I suggested the R9's, or maybe even the burners anyone with any suggestions on either of those would be greatly appreciated.....~Chris

Depending on the budget maybe she could purchase a combination of clubs and lessons. in other words do not go all out on equipment and save some money for lessons.

Maybe in 1975 when most people chose between MacGregor and Wilson in their local sporting goods store where the golf stuff was next to fishing tackle, this would have been a good idea. In today's era of custom fitting and tons of options to fit everyone's ability and budget, you should get a gift card.
