Dont hold your breath on Ping dropping the price. I just got my first set of Ping irons 3 weeks ago. Custom fit, right from the factory...G5s! I got 3-uw and paid $500 with steel shafts. I considered that to be a great deal.

I found a place on line that is advertising new sets of G15s (3-PW) for $319. I'm a little leery because it's the same price for steel or graphite shafts. I tried to post the name to see if anyone here had any experience with the company but it got censored out.

It is a good deal, but I don't think it is great since it is a short set. That really hurts the value, take a look at the pga value guide and you will see what i mean.

PGA value guide puts that "short" set at $330.

Those are in no doubt fakes. You can't even buy a set of new g5's for that.

Nobody sells new ping irons at a discount. Ping controls their prices 100%. Anybody selling for less is pushing clones or selling used.

OP, I'd say this is a good deal. I recently picked up a used set of G5s for around the same price (5-W), and picked up a used G5 GW to complete the set. About $260 all in, and I feel fine about what I spent. The G5, G10 and G15 are all very similar, and they're Pings, so they hold their value well. Sure, you could always wait, or try to get lucky on ebay, but if you have any inclination to pick up a set of the G series irons, I'd say jump on this chance.

I just paid $230 for a set of G5's 4-P and feel really good about them (plus $18 to have them rebent by ping). I'd bet that you could buy them and never lose money on them! I'd prolly have to scoop them up if they are exactly what you want!
