I don't know if I'm alone, but right now this is a new No 1 for me in the "budget golf ball" category. 3-piece, with solid distance, good enough spin off irons and very nice feel off the putter head... IMHO much softer feeling than NXT Tour. With various coupons and such I can get them for $20 a dz... great deal. Of course in a big tournament my Ego will pull out the Taylor Made TP's out of the box, but for "casual" rounds - this will be my ball of choice for a while.
Anybody cares to share a experience with them?

Come on. Its an awfully good feeling to have your opponents look down on you because of your equipment - and then to spank them with it. Like Phil slamming Tiger's inferior clubs a few years back.

I'm picking up whatch'ya layin' down brother...

however - deep, deep inside I do believe that the TP ball will improve my score... What can I say - I'm a cool-aid drinker if we're talking brand names

E6 is okay the biggest issue I've had with them is around the greens, they don't seem to spin much, and the Surlyn covers are not the most fun off the wedges and putter. I'm a much bigger fan of the E5, especially around the greens. Who cares that it's the 2 piece golf ball.

However, my ultimate winter ball (and anytime ball) is the Top Flite Strata TL-Tour. It's cheap, and the performance is very surprising, excellent around the greens, spins more than enough, and is very consistent. Don't let the "Rock" Flite name scare you off. ;)

i can't really comment.. i play 10 dollar dozen's of Wilson I-wound balls. They seem to work for me. I have been wanting to try the bridgestones though, just cause i like variety. I have liked the nike Mojo's though, even with the crazy gimmicky feel to the packaging.

I'm terrible, but i have fun.

The E5 and E6 are both excellent balls. I can't hardly tell the difference. I use them when I don't want to lose a HX Tour.

I agree, our local Austads was practically giving them away for $8.99 a dozen recently so I picked up 2 dozen.

I'd like to try the Bridgestones but they're hard to find here. So far, I can only get them mail order for $25 dozen. I'm sure I could find them cheaper, but I haven't taken the time.

About a year ago WalMart was selling a ball called the Dunlop Tour JD at $15 dozen. I bought them for the hell of it - they had a funky lion's head logo and I really liked them. So did my better playing friend, who was able to spin them around the green and liked the feel. Unfortunately, WalMart doesn't sell them anymore and I can't find them anywhere.

Has anyone tried the Nike Power Distance Soft ball? Consumer Reports rated them very highly. Not sure how the test was done. We can get those for about $16 dozen.

    • Mostly pull cuts to slices. Some random pull draw/hooks pending of I hit the toe.
    • What's the rest of that story? Where was the ball going?
    • The criticisms are starting already 🤣 U.S. Open pro criticizes Shinnecock green conditions: 'Bumpy' After playing his first practice round at the 2026 U.S. Open, Michael Kim offered a less-than-glowing review of Shinnecock's "bumpy" greens.   The sand, I don't care about that. If the greens didn't come back as well for latest aerification, that would be a bit of a blunder on Shinnecock I think.
    • Well, if your frame of reference spins twice during the swing, then Bryson's ab/adduction is more like 780 degrees so there! (Yes I'm being silly, but not sure it's any sillier than what your pal Andy is doing...)
    • Update: Brandon Sorsby has decided to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft. He will not play for Texas Tech in the upcoming season.  From my perspective, I think he did the right thing. I hope he gets the correct help for his gambling addiction. I say the right thing, because I would be worried that the stress from all of this now and throughout the entire year would not be beneficial towards his mental health.  If an NFL team picks him up, then there really isn't any pressure for him to play immediately. He can work on himself and his game for the NFL.  From Texas Tech,  "Texas Tech will continue to provide the support and recovery resources Brendan requires on this journey. Furthermore, Texas Tech will not seek return of any amounts already paid to Brendan through his NIL agreements with the University," Campbell wrote. "We wish our best to Brendan, and we offer our prayers to him and his family as he chases his dreams at the next level. This has been an unbelievably painful experience for us all, but I know that his true, underlying character and lessons learned through this experience will ultimately bring him great success on the field of play and in life." Which, I also the right thing to do.
