I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here who pushes lessons so hard. At first I was planning on trying to learn golf on my own but quickly realized a lesson might be beneficial. I decided to take a 1 and a half hour long game clinic and was shocked at how fast the instructor was able to correct my swing. I was hitting the ball much straighter with hardly any hook and at least 10-20 yards further by the end of the clinic. I got lucky and there was only 7 other people there so he was able to spend a good amount of time with each of us.

Plan on going to his short game clinic on Sunday and then getting a private lesson or two.

Glad to hear it is working for you. I am always amazed at how many people ignore the benefits of professional help when they are actually serious about learning something. Great to hear someone make a discovery.

It ain't bragging if you can do it.

Yeah I have not been playing long at all (Just start going to the range about 2-3 weeks ago and played 9 holes once) but he adjusted my grip and posture a bit and it felt so much better. My last shot of the day was the best feeling swing I have had yet.

Well you keep working at it and don't let anything, I mean anything, stop you from believing you can get better. I was a true 26 HCI when I found this site in December 2009. Taking advice and making a serious effort to change what needs changing has me at 19.4 and headed down. Those lessons can put you on the same path. Enjoy.
