I had the best ball-striking round today. Kept my driver in play and long, and also hit 12 greens. BUT i had the worst putting round in recent memory. Had 37 putts, and even worse not a single 1 putt. Not to mention my green side chipping wasn't quite up to par. I don't think ive ever been so disappointed to shoot 80 in my life.

In the three years I've been playing (about 10 rounds a year) I have never had a single round where everything came together yet. Either my driver is terrible and my short game is excellent or my short game sucks but my long game is excellent. For some reason I seem to hit consistently low 80s regardless but my lowest scores always come when my short game is at its best.

Man you are a really good golfer to only play 10 times a year. But ive never had it all come together either. It just sucks to have your best-ball striking round and worst putting round at the same time.

It nice that you know that you can do it and with the putting and short game shooting under par is within reach.

I've been working at a driving range for the past year so I get a lot of practice

. Since I started working there my handicap dropped big time. I've been there almost everyday for the past month trying to improve before winter. I feel like my ball striking has gotten much better and my miss hits are way better compared to what they used to be. I've always been a good putter so thats a big part of my 12 handicap. The courses around here are pretty short too. Playing from the back tees most are around 6,000 to 6,500 yards.

Haha thats impressive. Most courses i play at are also short (all around 6000) but at the same time very tight. Which is like a catch 22 for me because im long with the driver but tend to spray a couple. So i usually post a variety of scores on my scorecard lol.

Funny you should mention that because the course i played at has water on almost every hole. It was like the golf gods wanted me to chuck my putter in the water.
