What do you say to your Grandkids when...

Yesterday my Son in Law, two grandsons and I were playing Buffalo Creek GC in Palmetto, FL. We get behind a 3some at the turn and we're watching them spray balls all over the FW. For two holes they are just horrible, making matters worse the heavy rains of last week have the course saturated and we are under cart path only restrictions. So these folks are hitting 10 to 30 yards a shot advancing to the next shot and every now an then running back to their carts and moving them up to where they need to be. We catch up to them at the 12th and they agree to let us play through. We do, and one of them tags along with us up to the green since he had already hit before we got there. So he's talking to us I guess trying to impress my grandsons. One is 7 the other 14, now my kids are not special but the 7yr old can and does get 60+ yards on occasion and the 14 yr old is right at 200 frequently.

Anyway this guy tells us he's not hitting well today (surprise), but he continues with he got a new driver and it's going too long he's trying to get it below 350 yards cause the course is too short on most holes.

Both grandsons look at me and are trying to figure out what's up. The guy tells us its a new Blockbuster Driver. Later the 14 yr old just flat out says he's lying. I could only say, you get that sometimes on the course. His friends complimented us on the shots we hit as we played through...

I have not had the particular experience with my Grandson but I believe I would tell him that the fellows was just mistaken, or words to that effect.

It might not be too early to explain to them about "internet yards". This guy was probably a poster here. I bet he couldn't putt to save his life.
