Peaks, valleys, and flat-lining….I NEED CONSISTENCY!

The last several weeks have been very strange. I've been flat-lining for the majority of the season but now it's like feast or famine. Focus has been the main issue with my inconsistency (divorce, I'm finding out, will do that to you). I have my daughter every other week...my off week I've been playing a ton of golf (about 54 holes per week)…my on week I do not touch a club or even think about golf. Even many of my good rounds have been roller costar rides. I actually wanted to walk off the course 2 of my last 5 rounds because the game became a chore. I've almost developed a dependency on golf the weeks I do not have my daughter.

My last 5 rounds:

77 (36-41)
1 birdie, 6 bogies

72 (38-34)
1 eagle, 5 birdies, 5 bogies, and a double

88 (40-48)
1 birdie and a ton of "others"…actually had the sh**ks!

70 (34-36)
1 eagle, 2 birdies, 2 bogies

69 (36-33) tournament score
1 eagle, 3 birdies, 2 bogies

Sorry, this post was more of a vent to my fellow golfers then anything else.

He man we all go through it. I had a 8 week span where every round my handicap was knocked down .1-.3.....Last Thursday I was 3 over par on the front and ended up with an 80.......then I shot an 89 and 88 the following weekend. Terrible stuff.

Yep for a while I was shooting low 90's then I posted two back to back 110+ scores. I'm in the same boat as you, but when you don't play well it's not quite as embarrassing as myself.. lol.

half my planned golf rounds got rained out, so 18 hole scores have been scarce.

So far: Four rounds, 97 to 101, and three rounds in the 80s. I'm a less skilled golfer with consistency problems.

Your divorce has got to be a distractor, even from hole to hole. For me just minor problems, especially nagging problems at work that won't go away, can launch me to a bad week on course.

I may need to try some yogi, so I can calm my mind and spend four hours in the Kingdom of Golf, and not worry about the outside world awhile.

I think we'd all like consistency. Unfortunately, thats not an option for most of us.
