So I need a new putter. Have hit the ball amazingly well all summer and struggled with my putting. These are the two I am considering. I did get to putt with the SC Newport 2.6 today a liked it. I have not had a chance to try the Rife yet. How do they differ...or are they pretty much alike? Much appreciate if anyone who plays these can drop some insight.

Just for reference...

tried both
I liked the SC a lot but couldnt justify the $$ tag behind it
thought i liked the roll groove tech on the Rife, but it puts TOO much forward spin on the ball and i found myself rolling a lot of putts off the lip and spinning waaaay past the hole

i am using a SeeMore CS FGP now
its ok.....so far though my Ping Anser has been the ticket
old reliable I guess

Both are very good putters, SC is $300+ and the Rife is about $150 ...... SC has been stolen, so be careful when leaving your bag unattended when you're at the 19th hole.

I have a 2.6 and love it. The feel and weight are excellent and if you're patient, you can find a good deal on ebay. As far as it getting stolen, that's why I just put a different headcover on it. That silver headcover is screaming for attention...

Never tried that specific Rife, but have tried others and the feel just isn't there for me. It's all a personal preference though.

Hold the phone! I know where there's a 35" Trinidad for $70 shipped in MINT condition if you're interested.

That is a very interesting spot for the shaft to connect to the putter. I assume your use to that, I've never tried that. As for my opinion on putters, can't go wrong with a SC if you can afford it.

Thanks guys. I did really like the feel of the SC and need to find the Rife local to give it a shot. I do like the roll other Rife putter I have tried give to the ball.

LB...sent you a PM about the putter that is available.
