This is the most passive aggressive (pu**y) thing I've ever read. Take it to craisglist rant & rave section or pull your skirt up and confront the guy but leave it the f**k off this site Mary. God. Grow a pair.

Nothing shows manhood like using the word pu$$y as an insult! Go get 'em, tough guy!

No, you're wrong. It's not meant for anybody. It's just someone whining like a 5 year old. Shoot if most 5 year olds think your'e cheating at least they would call you out on it. Unlike the OP. And no. I dont cheat. I play with people but rarely play against anyone. I play against myself and the cousre and I get really upset if I forget a stroke or score because I want to know how I truly performed. So don't pretend in your weak way to accuse me of cheating. I just hate passive aggerssive rants. Fire it off to the guy who is actually cheating and spare us the sob story Eileen.

P.S. Maybe I am having a less than stellar day at work, but passive aggressive ranting is really useless. Try and approach him politely and assertively like a man and let him know you don't like his behavior.

OR sit around in the club house and talk isht and hope somehow the situation somehow corrects itself.

Yeah, but even that's not his *real* score. Let's say he shoots one in a bad spot and takes a mulligan. If you only count that as one stroke then you're assuming he could hit a decent shot from where his original shot landed. Usually mistakes compound mistakes so only counting the mulligans is still giving him a significant discount.

Oh trust me I am with you, but I figure thats the closest I can get to coming up with a system to keep him at least somewhat honest. I mean you can put a drive OB and still have a decent score especially since him and I both hit the crap out of our shots. I guess I am overestimating his skill (and I am... by a lot) but I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, I should stop being nice about it and write down the real score. Earlier this year I counted a 14 (yes a 14) on a hole... he took a 6 on the hole because I shot a 5. I guess I don't get it, I don't see how anyone can become better when you cheat, and what do you really get out of recording a score 2 or 3 (or in his case) 10 or so strokes less? I must feel to guilty to do it.

I've got no problems if you're playing for fun, and you take a mulligan, a gimmie, move the ball out from behind a tree, drop and play if you've lost one, etc. etc. etc. After all, it's supposed to be fun..... BUT, if there's any money on the line, if you're playing in any competition, or if you're aiming for bragging rights, then play by the rules! for god's sake, it's just incredibly low to cheat to win anything, or take 5 mulligans etc. and brag about beating your buddy after the round.

Agreed 100%. I'm fortunate, I guess, to play with some quality folks.

I have approached cheaters many times when I have caught them cheating, but to be honest most rounds I am wrapped up in my own game and I am not a very good police man. A guy really has to be taking liberties for me to start watching. A few too magic found balls and you start to wonder. Calling a guy out in golf doesn't always go too well, if they decide to deny it. I have been there a few times. Once I refused to sign a scorecard during a tourny. We were out as threesome and the other guy also saw what happened, but the cheater still denied it.

One round this guy keeps finding ball that should be way OB. I start asking him - are you sure that is your ball? after this occured 2 or 3 times I make sure to walk with him to search for his ball. I do find a ball, but as I have been watching the ball he is playing (a bridgestone) I know damn well it is not his ball, still I ask him " are you playing a titliest prov 1 - 3 ?" He says "yes, great you found my ball" I say "no this one is is actually a Calloway and on the tee I could swear you had a bridgestone, you should pay more attention to what ball you are playing or people might think you are trying to cheat." he got the point and we sent back to the tees to rehit. For the record 99% of the guys I play with would never "cheat". We all break the rules of golf in a fun game (gimmees mostly), but when I am talking about cheating I am talking about deception. In tournament play the rules have to be followed to the letter, and even then breaking a rule is not always cheating - most of the time is mistake. But when i get knowing breaks the rules to get an advantage that is cheating. Like I say out 90 regular rounds this year and 20 tournaments have only played with 2 cheaters and out of 500 members in our club only three guys are known to cheat.

I guess you think that you are getting away with cheating, but you are not. When you hit your ball OB or in a hazard and you magically find it, we notice. You may notice that we are eager to help you find your lost ball, but you never know what you were playing, and of course you are the person who finds your ball – nowhere near where it went. Yet when we ask you “are you sure that is ball is yours?” you are always adamant that it is yours. Have you also noticed that people now make appoint of declaring the ball they are playing for the round and how it is marked? Did you know they do this so you will declare the ball you are playing?

This is probably the worst written thing I've read in a while.

And that's saying something.
