No rain, but got Scramb-ed out!

I'm the guy who has been rained out 12 times this season. Friday the weather was nice, but I got Scramb -ed out for the first time ever.

A co-worker and I went out to play golf Friday morning at a course we had never been to before.

On Thursday we had gotten a 7:46 am tee time so we could get ahead of a tournament supposedly starting at 8:15.

Well, we putt out on the first green and head up to the second tee. Four carts drive up behind us and ask if we're on the wrong hole.

We ask what they mean, and they say we're right in the middle of a 26 foursome shotgun scramble which was starting at 8:15.

My partner and I go back to the clubhouse, and ask for a refund. The starter politely gives us our $$ back, and said he didn't realize Thursday the scramble would be that large.

We call another course nearer to home and get a late-morning tee time. It's a nine hole layout - all we have time for - we have a late afternoon meeting at work we need to go to.

The next three weeks are all tied up with this and that, so if an early frost comes, golf season may be about over for me.

I spent one golf winter in Buffalo, and I completely sympathize with you. I actually played in the rain about 7 or 8 times last summer because I'd waited all week to play and wasn't going home unless they kicked me off.

That sucks, I went to the course yesterday around 3 only to find out it was closed because they were in the middle of a shotgun tourney

ah there is plenty of great golf in missouri in october and november (OCT is my fav golf month).
