I thought we needed a thread for the Phillies and the coming World Series run. Play-off baseball is my favorite time of the year...it matches with perfect cool weather, plush golf courses and fast greens!!

They are looking better every day and are a solid favorite coming out of the NL. With the big 3 at the top of the rotation i am hard pressed to think they wouldn't be a favorite vs anyone!!

Carlos Ruiz is back to his typical fall self hitting 400 with power...I think he saves it all for the strech run! Howard is stroking the ball as typical this time of year. The pieces are falling place as in 45-12 since late July or whatever the exact number it is.

Put me in coach, i am ready to play!!! or maybe just watch!!

Gotta admit the Phillies do have the best 1-2-3 punch as a rotation of any team going into postseason. I was surprised it took them as long as they did to get it going but now that they have I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the WS. It will be shame for Philly fans when my Twins take 'em out in 5!

P.S. Your right about the conditions of the courses this time of year. Perfect!

congrats, you guys locked it up last night. i am not sure if that will help or hurt but it makes life better for setting up a rotation!

The Braves are soooo close to dead that we are in gimme range. Halladay needs a little rest so it would be nice to see him get a 60 pitch outing next start if the game is meaningless!!

Oh it's going to help having the division locked up this early, trust me! The Twins have had to play game 163 two out of the last three seasons. Last year they went into extra innings w/ the Tigers and then had to fly out to NY to play a game 16 hours later! So this is a nice change of pace! Hopefully the Rays can pass NY for the AL East and the Twins can get the best record in the AL. Not for bragging rights but to have face NY in a shortened ALDS and if we advance (finally!!) face the Rays in the ALCS. Not sure if this is going to happen but I can say that a Rays/Twins ALCS would be some of the cleanly played baseball ever seen. Well, I can hope anyway.

It's going to be interesting to see how the NL West shakes down. And what's with the Rockies?!? They get on some crazy streaks and I am pulling for them. But all said and done I do think the Phillies are going to be the favorites to not only win the NL pennant but the WS as well. In order to beat the Phillies you would have to beat one of the "Big Three" twice in a series. I just don't see that happening but then again I shot a 78 in my club championship and sure as hell didn't see that coming either!

Watch out for Cincy..... Philly is the better team on paper but the Reds have a major vibe going on right now....

Scott Rolan...it ain't gonna happen. The Reds have been HUGE suprise this season and have played very well. They could find it harder against the Phils staff.

This is awesome...100 fine...5 aholes calling to report them smoking indoors...priceless. people need a life. the owner should cut a check to the city and or state in advance for 5k and tell them he is hoping for a few more violations!!!

Hammels three outs away from a complete game shutout! Go Phillies!!!!!

Halladays no hitter was amazing to watch, best game I have ever seen pitched in my entire life. And I saw his perfect game earlier in the year.

Scotty Rolen came up small...no real shock there. The Reds reminded me of the 07 Phillies that got swept by the rockies...they have talent but just weren't ready yet. They have a bright future.

Now bring on the Giants!!

I'm looking forward to this seemingly-likely Phillies-Yankees World Series. I haven't a single doubt in my mind that the Phillies will win.
The Yanks have their usual offense, but their pitching (mainly CC) has been less than noteworthy thus far.

I just hope my Phils can get their bats going against the Giants' pitching. They're no slouches, especially Lincecum.
