I was reading through Golf Digest's website and came across this article: http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-tours...oods-book-0921

I think it's pretty interesting. I might not read the book (not a lot of reading time lately), but the article was certainly interesting. I get the feel that the author will sort of tip-toe about the hard-hitting Earl Woods issues, but he seems knowledgeable. What I took out of it the most was the last paragraph.

""I asked him once," Royce said in the book, "'Don't you ever want to do a little dirt, Tiger? Be a little bad? Spray graffiti paint all over a wall at school, or something?' 'You know, I probably would,' he told me, 'if I didn't know I was going to be famous someday.'""

IMO these are the things that made Tiger amazing in his younger days. He had the talent, sure, but he just had that "it" that made him seem to transcend sports. Partly because of aging, and certainly because of the affairs, that's vanished totally. And it's a real shame. If you don't think the game of golf was better when it was Tiger or the field (and you could legitimately pick Tiger over the rest of the field combined), I disagree wholeheartedly.

Agree to disagree. Tiger Woods is great, and I really enjoy watching him play and compete-but it didn't and doesn't make the game of golf better for me when he's always winning.
