Practiced today and Hit my Driver, Hybrid,3,5,7,and PW. All were good except 3 Iron.
If I could tranfer todays Practice to the course I would have scored well.
My grip was good, club face placement was perpendicular to where I was aiming, Swing Plane was consistent.

I don't just hate my game right now, I hate the game.

I am right at the top of my form at the moment. Everything is going well apart from a few short putts here and there.
I won a 90 man tourney the other day with 49 stableford points. I am not sure what the regular competition format is in the US, but you get 2 points for a net par, 3 for a net birdie, 1 for a net bogey and so on. I scored 49, which is the highest number of stableford points ever recorded at my club. I was playing off 19 at the time, and I dropped down the 15 after the round because i shot a gross 6 over par with 4 double bogeys, a single bogey, and 3 birdies in 4 holes. It could have had 4 in a row, but i missed a 3 footer on the 12th.

i havent felt very confident for a while now. Played 18 today at Eldorado IL, shot a 95, didnt make a single par mostly bogeys doubles. Did have one great hole, 1st hole 374 yard par 4(started on back 9) hit a decent drive with the wind at my back into the right rough about 265 yards. Hit the green with pw and nailed a 15 ft downhill putt for birdie. Had chances to score much better but still very inconsistent with ball striking having to rely on my short game and putting which is pretty good for someone of my handicap as I dont hit very many greens. Having trouble making solid contact with my irons and hitting a lot of ugly iron shots and not always using proper english after doing so. Im trying to get the notion in my head that im probably never going to be a great player and bad shots are to be expected and are more the norm than the exception and try to enjoy the game more and keep a more even keel instead of getting bent out of shape over a terrible shot. Its an optional leisure activity that is supposed to be fun and enjoyable, a good way to enjoy a nice day outdoors.

I feel about 95% confident right now. My measuring stick was Diablo Grande this past Wednesday, the white tees play 69.8/128. My goal was to shoot 92 or better and I shot 90, with a 42 on the front. Therein lies my 5% downgrade. For some reason, the back 9 on my last 3-4 rounds have not been as sharp as the front.

I am playing Hunter Ranch on Sunday, white plays 70.9/130. This is the test for the year. My goal is to shoot 90 or better and I think I can do it from what I learned at Diablo. The key for me is getting off the tee in a reasonable position.
