All 3 of them. My daughter (6), son (4) and youngest son (5 months). My wife came along and drove the cart. Both my 6 year-old and my 4 year-old played along for nearly the entire round. We played a local par 29 executive course (28.2/82 rating). Both kids hit some really good shots and had a pretty good time. They really did well around the greens.

My 5 month-old, on the other hand, must not have been too impressed. He feel asleep on 4 and didn't wake up until we were on the 8th green.

We had a good time. It was just the distraction from golf that my game needed too. When we added it up at the end of the round I realized that I'd shot a 26. I had 4 birdies, 4 pars and a bogie to round out my day. Bogie was a bit of a bummer (168 yard first hole) but 4 birds help make that pain go away.

Anyway, if you've got little ones, it's never to early to get them out on the course....

My boy, 3, loves to be my caddy. Actually, he loves riding the cart. I concentrate on teaching him how to respect the grass and the quiet time when Dad is hitting. Told him once he goes the hole round without breaking one of the rules he can hit some balls. Start em young. Golf is a great way to learn respect for others.

A few pictures from today's outing... Look at the lag these kids have got! People spend years trying to develop this...

Good for you getting the family involved! Both my wife and I started golfing this year as a way to get some exercise and some "quiet" time. Even at the expense of some of the "quiet" in our quiet time, I asked if any of our girls were interested (13, 11, and 6). I had no takers. My oldest simply doesn't get get the point of hitting a little white ball and pretty much says so in her hormonal, teenage, don't-bother-me voice. My 11-year old was interested only until I indicated she could not drive the golf cart (plus I usually walk). If you saw her drive go-carts you'd know why. Her motto is "brakes are for babies." My little one has a nano-second attention span and the idea of putting a long steel club in her hand is scary. Maybe things will change as they get older! It would certainly make it easier to golf more if everyone were interested.

They are both doing very well. I've been swinging a club since I was 2 but I doubt that I was hitting the ball as well as my kids do from time to time. Natalie gets upset because she gets really steep on the downswing and pounds the dirt right behind the ball quite a bit. She just needs to practice a bit more, she'll figure it out. By the end of the round, she was doing much better. Hunter, well he's 4 and just hitting the ball is great. He still enjoys it when I help him out. Good times, we're going to have to do it more often.
