MP 60s

hey guys

at one of the ranges near me, they have a set of used MP 60s going for 350. The set is probably an 8 out of 10, seems like a real good price but just wanted a couple of opinions on it.

Also i like the feel of them but not 100 percent sure i can hit them pure all the time. Any opinions out there on how good you should be before getting these clubs. Have been averaging low 80s this season with the blow up being like 88 and the good round being 80(cant seem to crack the 70s yet)

$350 is way too high. $250 would be more in line if the set is in good shape.

I agree with shades, $350 is too high. Depending on the shafts that they have, less than $300 for sure, and probably closer to $250 would be more fair.

The clubs aren't that bad to hit. Probably a good set if you are still improving and want to work on it. No matter what kind of clubs you might get, if you don't hit them center it won't matter. It just comes down to how good or bad you want the misses to be and if you can accept or tolerate them.

I play these clubs. I purchased them new in 2008 for $350 on sale, so I wouldn't offer more than $250 for them used.

I started playing these clubs when I was a 7 handicap.

Based on my experience, I'd suggest that if you are playing a GI iron, I'd stick with that until you are comfortably shooting in the 70s on a consistent basis.

Your best shots won't be much better, but your bad shots will be significantly worse.

They are great irons, but the price is too high.
Try ebay. You'll do much better, but you might like to go for some MP57s instead.
Very similar in feel but more forgiving.

I've played the MP60s since '08. Initially, I was afraid that I had bought "too much club" given the state of my game. I paid $240 for the set (5 - PW) with NS 950GH shafts (an upgrade over the standard TTDG) from a reputable seller on eBay. Three seasons later, my cap is now similar to yours and my iron play has greatly improved. As others have stated, you have to be prepared to accept the poor shots; you can't hide behind GI or SGI clubs that mask every poorly struck shot. When you pure them, there is no better feeling!!

I've played the MP60's since '08 as well, and I love them. The feeling you get when you pure one is awesome, plus all the "other" shots give you great feedback. Agreed that $350 is a little steep though...

I play MP 60/32 combiation and love them. I've found them to be pretty forgiving, (however, I went from blades to the 60's). I also agree with others that the price is too high, even if they have PX shafts. Offer them 250 bux and see what they say.
