Hello,

I just had a new driver built and now I'm wondering if I have to do the same to my 3 wood and 5 wood?

Before, all 3 clubs had V2 shafts with the 3&5 woods having the exact same shaft (weight, torque, etc.).

I was told some time ago that you should shaft your woods exactly the same for continuity. I've also heard that you should shaft each club based on the club itself due to the fact that they are all unique.

Why did you get stiff proforce shafts in your fairways! The reg proforce is much stiffer than the reg of most brands.

It was recommended to me to try a V2 for my driver by someone I trusted. This person then said to shaft the woods the same. Knowing what I know now, I would have not gotten Stiff shafts given that my swing speed hovers just above 85 mph.

Those most feel like poles...

IMO, the driver is unique and should be matched to your specific needs. The 3 is different from the driver and is hit off the turf so the fact that it doesn't match the driver is not important. What is important is that it gets the job done. Now if you carry a 5 as well it would make sense that it matches the 3 for continuity.

As stated, Driver is a specific set of requirements, so I'd use whatever shaft works. 3wd may or may not have different set of requirements then a 5wd, so they don't necessarily need to be the same. Some guys hit 3wd exclusively off the tee, so it may want to be lower flight then the 5wd, which would normally want a higher flight to be able toland on greens.

Ah, makes sense. Is there a "standard" for fairway woods? My issue is I have a hard time picking the ball off of fairways to be honest (lot's of worm-burners). And yes, thinking about it... those V2 stiffs feel like poles

      Day 8 (28 Jun 26) - Worked with face position at address and overall setup - open/neutral/closed - and setting up for resulting shot shapes - using 8i and hard foam balls.  It was abbreviated as the thunder began to rumble. Got in about 20 swings before calling it.

      Tale of two swings.  Swing 1: Slightly outside takeaway (hands move outside of target line) only to allow trail elbow over collapsing at P4. Doesn't take much to overdo it for the trail elbow collapse to only further exaggerate. That's death. Swing 2: Hands stay slight in at takeaway for a much better trail elbow condition at P4. This is a hard sell from an instinct perspective. More focus on un-weighting and re-weighting of lead foot to unlock a bit more mobility of hips and torso. A major flaw that creeps up often is me swinging flat footed and becoming overly armsy-collapsy as a result. Got reminded of this the hard way during my 2nd round match for club net championship. Was cruising along 2up until I made the turn. Then lost the swing for next five holes. Andy was playing good enough to capitalize. By the time I regained my swing on 16th, it was too late. Even Andy was like "That was a gift". Obviously that stings because have played well enough lately. Should have closed him out of the game comfortably with a few holes to spare. Shoulda woulda coulda. Tough lesson. Damn. P.S. I know the swings look very similar but trust me there is a difference.
