Need some driver advice. TWG has a great deal on the Cobra S2 driver with regular shaft. I am currently hitting a Callaway x-460. Would this be much of an upgrade? Also, would I be better served by holding off and getting a driver fitting. My club pro fits Pings.

Yes, it might be a slight upgrade in distance and accuracy if the club suits your swing well. I'd go see your pro about a g15 fit to your swing if you want best results.

I think the majority of folks would benefit from a proper fitting for an after market shaft in their current driver. However, to be honest, I would likely buy the Cobra. Easier to give good advice than to take it. Better yet, if the deal is that good, buy the Cobra and if you like it better than the 460, get an after market shaft put in it.

I would just make sure you take your swing speed into account if you're not already. A regular shaft will fit your swing, in general, if your swing speed is anywhere from 80-95 mph. Anything above that and you should get a stiff flex shaft.

At this point in golf technology, I have learned that any gains are mostly in the shaft and in visual preference. The driver clubheads are pretty much maxed out so it is more about getting something that fits your swing. Of course who can resist a good deal?

Is it worth it to go from a 420 or 440cc head to 460cc if you have problems finding the sweet spot on your current smaller head driver? Sorry to thread jack but it kinda fits in here
