Just a thought, maybe totally wrong, maybe someone .....

I am playing the MP-57 now, which is a best described as a players cavity back, it has what Mizuno calls a cut muscle ...... it is less friendly than they describe it to be...... off center towards the toe is really short distance ..... I really like the clubs, but I figure that more mass behind the ball like in the MP-68 or the new MP-63 means more distance .....

Correct (in theory at least) but not much more unless you "pure it", and they will penalise you slightly more than the MP-57s do on toe shots etc. The below chart is a good comparison...

Also there is a minor difference in loft too...

Cobra - Speed Pro 8.5º X-Flex, Speed Pro 13º S-Flex | Mizuno - MP CLK 20º Hybrid, MP-67 DG S300 4-PW | Cleveland - CG10 52º,56º, 60º | Rife - Antigua Island 34"

They don't look to bad.
My friend has the MP 52's (which are a little more forgiving), and I didn't notice that much of a decrease in distance.

if your going to find a decrease in distance it should only be a few yards.

I have old blades where the clubhead is only a little bit bigger than the ball. if you hit them off-centre you'll loose a good bit of distance.

IIRC, if you hit it on the sweet spot (AKA where the COGs line up) the body of mass acts as if all of the mass is centered behind the COG. Thus, whether or not the mass is spread out doesn't make a difference.

he's talking about toe hits though.

blades have less mass towards the toe and are also more prone to twisting

Jamo is right here. Conservation of momentum doesn't care how mass is distributed. Also, the mp57 will help you on those toe hits more than a muscleback will.

Bingo. If you hit it sweet it won't matter what the head is like, within reason.
