A very underrated driver imho. I have a 10.5* with the stock reg flex shaft, and played it for a few rounds. It's very forgiving, and has a very hot face. I also have a G15 driver, and I'd consider the MX-700 sort of a G15 "lite". It's maybe a bit less forgiving than the G15, but otherwise, very similar, from the shape to its performance. I will be reshafting my MX-700 with a prolaunch red reg flex shaft to bring the ball flight down a bit. All in all though, a great driver, and a steal for the low price they go for (I picked mine up used in very good condition for under $100).

Equipment:
Ping K15 Driver (10.5º) - Diamana BB R flex; Ping G15 4 Wood (TFC R flex); Ping G15 20* Hybrid (TFC R flex); Ping G15 23* and 27* Hybrids (AWT R flex steel); Ping G15 Irons 6-GW (AWT R flex steel); Ping I-Wedge 54* Wedge; CG14 BP 58* Wedge; Odyssey Black Series Tour Designs #9 Putter

Sounds like a good Driver. How much are they selling for the new ones?

I have always struggled with my drivers, I purchased the 700 last year and really liked it, long and straight! I agree very under-rated driver. it was $299 new not sure now though

Easily the best feeling driver I've hit but the shaft in mine is soft and crap (E150 R Flex IIRC)

I've got the 10.5 version and it does sit a touch closed but other than that its a relatively normally looking 460 driver and it has a very hot face..... the ball seems to explode off the face.....

Been playing around with the driver in my sig but am going to get the MX reshafted when I take my gap wedge to get bent and then its going in the bag...

    • Tale of two swings.  Swing 1: Slightly outside takeaway (hands move outside of target line) only to allow trail elbow over collapsing at P4. Doesn't take much to overdo it for the trail elbow collapse to only further exaggerate. That's death. Swing 2: Hands stay slight in at takeaway for a much better trail elbow condition at P4. This is a hard sell from an instinct perspective. More focus on un-weighting and re-weighting of lead foot to unlock a bit more mobility of hips and torso. A major flaw that creeps up often is me swinging flat footed and becoming overly armsy-collapsy as a result. Got reminded of this the hard way during my 2nd round match for club net championship. Was cruising along 2up until I made the turn. Then lost the swing for next five holes. Andy was playing good enough to capitalize. By the time I regained my swing on 16th, it was too late. Even Andy was like "That was a gift". Obviously that stings because have played well enough lately. Should have closed him out of the game comfortably with a few holes to spare. Shoulda woulda coulda. Tough lesson. Damn. P.S. I know the swings look very similar but trust me there is a difference.
