I've been a serious fisherman all my life & always heard you just can't fish & play golf both well, so I never tried golf for fear I'd probably like it & it would cut into my fishing time. So, here I am at 46 years old & my boss guilted me into playing a company scramble tournament. Loved it. So, since September, I've played about as much as humanly possible (17 times) & bought a full compliment of gear at awesome year end discounts. It was a great time of year to get started - no crowds & cheap greens fee's - going to be a completely different story next summer I know. Glad I finally started golfing - just wish I didn't listen to my tournament fishing buddies & started golfing earlier in life ...

John (PS - one question for the experienced guys here if I may ... I'm trying desperately to keep my left elbow straight & my shoulder socket is REALLY killing me after every round time I play ... just seems so unnatural, but necessary from everything I've read & seen on youtube. I guess my question is how straight do you have to keep your left elbow - is a little bend acceptable ? Lessons will be in order next spring, but just wanted some consensus here beforehand)
