Well to say the least I am embarrased to even report this 18 hole breakdown
TO be honest, Im not even going to get into it hole by hole

My last 18 was a 78, and not a pretty 78 (2 seperate rounds, and both front nine's)
tonight i had terrible course mgmnt, hense the 40 i shot
pitching from the bush, out of bunkers, pushing the ball right...it goes on - i should have shot 60

It is so hard to play close to scratch
Im not even sure I can do it anymore, or if its even worth it...its exhausting me to no end, to the point of stressing me out
its not good.....

the weather has been the sh*ts and I cant get out to practice
its been cold and rainy the last 2 weekends and im getting out once MAYBE twice a week to practice for an hour a day

I sitll want to compete, but maybe not at the level i THINK i should be playing
my first tourny is next weekend and it is match play
little nervous - if i get matched up to someone w the same hcp im f'ed
even though my official hcp is 3.1, im playing more to a 6 or 7 (based on my last 4 rounds)

im just not sure i can do it or put the time in to make it to 0.0

guess i will see what the next couple rounds bring...and the weather - 4-11 degrees celcius and RAIN for 4 days---yee haw

It sounds like you were scrambling like crazy - imagine how well you'll shoot if you straighten out the long shots.

Besides, it's only April. There's at least 6 more weeks of summer in Canada - don't give up yet.

You're not happy because you have high standards - and they're getting higher - that's a good thing if you don't let the odd string of bad holes bother you after the round. Identify and rectify.

Had a better practice round today
tried to get out before the 3 day rain set in
hit some chips/pitches from 70yds and in....glad i went back to my Cally wedges...these things are dialed

felt better today...must have been off or something yesterday, everything just clicked

yesterday as well, i did rebound w a birdie after a double, so i am getting better at getting my head back in it after a crappy hole

identify - poor course mgmnt
rectify - get my head out of my a$$ and put my ego aside when its time to score (hense going for EVERY pay 5 in 2...dumb a$$ me)
- also need to practice putting more....32 or 33 putts a round just wont do

its going to be a long road ahead, but im still willing to give this a shot

we have baby 2 due early August, so hopefully that doesnt put a dampner on things
but my wife is the best and super supportive
I have the Team Sask tryouts a week before our due date and she says its cool i play....is that a trap!!??? :)

    • Titleist TSR1 or TSi1.  Both have adjustable hosels. edit:  Forgot to mention the GT1.
    • I've been really absent all things golf since September but have been getting the bug lately.  Today in SE Michigan we have our first thaw of the year.  It is Sunny and 53 degrees and boy do I want to get on a golf course!  Spring is around the corner 🙂
    • I assume you are posting 15 or 16 holes and letting the USGA algorithm insert projected scores for the missing holes. How is that going? Are the projected scores reasonable? I have yet to do this.
    • You're right. I haven't really had an issue with this before, but it's definitely worth closing the legs a bit to see what happens. I've had 2 of these and never had this problem before. About 5 years of use between the 2. It's really odd. Yeah, I've always had a bit of inconsistency and misreads, but this is a new level. I did a baseline session last night, and all my of stack speeds had decreased by roughly 5-10 mph (with me throwing out the obvious garbage readings). Weirdly, the driver speed actually seemed to be right where I expected it. I guess maybe it's having trouble with the smaller head of the stack vs. a driver? Whatever it is, I think it's time for me to go with the stack radar.
    • @DeadManI used to use the Swing Speed radar and, in hindsight, it seems very unreliable.  As @iacassaid, it's prone to misplacement, and I'd sometimes get wildly different speeds from swing-to-swing: like a 103mph, followed by 118mph, then a 102mph, then a 114mph.  I didn't know any better at the time and thought that was normal.  I've since upgraded radars and the new speeds seem much more accurate/consistent. Also, Mike Carroll (FFG) used to have the SSR and he now calls it a 'random number generator'.
