From the blue tees (6876 yards 71.9/127) and 82 for a differential of 9.0, 43/39, 9 FW, 8 GIR, 30 putts. 2 birdies, 8 pars, 5 bogies, 2 double and a triple. Only the second time I have had a sub 40 score for nine holes. The range work since my round on the 18th is paying off. My swing keys have been "head on ball and weight forward". I had the 5-10 yard push draw working and hit several greens with mid to long irons and they were sticking. I decided against playing the Prov1x since it had just rained this morning. Instead I played with some old NXT tour. I hit one particular five iron from 185 to pin high left. The biggest mistake which kept me from the 70's was the triple which was a result of a low pull hook tee shot into water. An absolutely terrible swing. I did hit 3 shots fat. Gotta keep working on it.

Good job, I like to see people improving. I myself is stuck in a rut (that sounded odd). It looks like it's about time to go hit the range with nothing but a six iron and a bucket of 150...

Back on topic, I shot the same 82 at a course from the tips, but they played 6100, and 120ish slope. congrats on your low score!

Thanks. This is from the middle mens tees and not from the tips. The black tees "tips" = 7621 yards 75.6/129. I'm a long ways from playing from those tees. LOL

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
