So with the new Xbox Kinect combo out, my step son has really been on me about getting one.  Now we have the PS2, PS3, and the Wii at home.  We want to keep the Wii for sure.  I am probably going to sell or trade in the PS2.  The PS3 is undecided which led me to this thread.

Is the Xbox or PS3 better?  I know the PS3 plays blue ray and I think that each system has a couple of exclusive games to them.  But as far as graphics and what not, which is the better system?  I don't see having both to be honest and I have heard a couple of people say the Xbox graphics aren't as good...but that Kinect really adds to the Xbox's status.

If you are keeping the Wii, having the PS3 with Move is kind of redundant. The Kinect, on the other hand, is different. I prefer 360s, though they break more frequently (although I have heard they have been better in recent years). You really won't find much difference in graphics between the 360 and PS3.

EDIT: I just realized that you didn't mention having a Move. I would still go with the 360 though.

In my bag:

Driver: Titleist TSi3 | 15º 3-Wood: Ping G410 | 17º 2-Hybrid: Ping G410 | 19º 3-Iron: TaylorMade GAPR Lo |4-PW Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo | 54º SW, 60º LW: Titleist Vokey SM8 | Putter: Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7

Yeah, I don't have the move and don't plan on buying it. If I buy anything, it will be the Xbox because of the Kinect.  My wife thinks that she would actually use it because of the different games that can be bought for the Kinect.  We like the Wii because we like Mario and now we have the Mario All stars that has the original games as well.  It's fun to go back and play the games that we played as kids.

All I was really worried about were the graphics.  The PS3 has good graphics and I didn't want to go backwards in that regard. I may end up just keeping it and buying the Xbox too. We have the PS3 in our room because of the Blue Ray Player.  The Wii can go back in my step-son's room and the Xbox can stay in the living room since we would be using it more as a family.  Who knows?  The Xbox and Kinect bundle for 299.00 is a good deal considering the Kinect was 150.00 by itself

I have all three.

I bought the Wii and then, when I realized that all the games were going to be that kind of game, I bought an Xbox 360 because it cost less than the PS3, we were developing software for it, and I could play NHL 08 or whatever on it and it'd look great... and Xbox Live was already doing well.

Then I bought a PS3 when we put a second TV upstairs so we could stream to it (our software, Rivet, supported Xbox 360 and PS3 by then), and we use it for streaming from computers, Netflix upstairs, and also Blu-Ray. I haven't bought a game for it and probably never will.

The Wii and the Xbox had a cute nickname when they first came out, and were the best combination for the money of all the three consoles. Very little overlap in features, functionality, game library, etc. You got the Nintendo-exclusive stuff, the Xbox-exclusive stuff, and so on. Now with the way Move and Kinect have lined themselves up, again the PS3 is the odd duck out as they're basically just doing the Wii while the Kinect is mapping your whole body.

So ditch the PS3 or keep it as a Blu-Ray player.

That's the way I am leaning after talking with a few people today. Thanks.
