I'm thinkin that I'll be sending my putter into the custom shop soon.  I bought it off Ebay with the intention of getting refinished, but I had been looking elsewhere because I thought Scotty's prices were ridiculous.  My Scotty didn't come with a headcover or a grip.  The $145.00 restoration includes a new shaft, a new headcover, and a new grip, and paintfill.  Just those items are worth at least $75, so all of a sudden 145 for a full restoration doesn't seem bad at all.

Sounds cool. What Scotty did you end up getting? Got any neat paint schemes you have planned? Let us know when it comes back.

I got the Pro Platinum Newport, it was always my favorite looking scotty.  I looked into guys like that, especially Colbert because it appears he is a fellow Minnesotan.  Colbert is obviously cheaper when it comes to the refinishing, but you get extras with Scotty that I would want to get for the putter anyways(headcover, grip) and it also comes with a new shaft.  The custom shop also has  the "pro platinum" finish which noone else has.  As far as paint schemes, I like to keep it simple.  I'm planning on just going with black paintfill all around, but I've toyed with the idea of throwing in a hint of another color like red.

I like the Newport with the "Santa Fe" neck which wasn't available in the original Pro Platinum series. So, I have a Circa 62 #2 that I am going to send to the Custom Shop to be refinished in Pro Platinum.  As far as paintfill goes, to me red, black and white seem to go best with Pro Platinum.

My Scotty was sent to the custom shop.  I bought it off of eBay and at that point it was pretty beat up, sent it to the custom shop and it came back brand new.

Here's a few before and after pics so you can see the kind of work you should expect.

I think it clashes with the colour of the putter. Also putter grips last a long time and pink isn't going to be cool for all that long.

I have that grip in navy in one of my putters- feels great.
