1)  what is your wedge setup?

2)  i have question...  How does bounce affect distance on a full swing with a wedge?

i bought a 58* nicklaus wedge with 11* bounce.  i also have a set of adams tom watson series wedges (52.07, 56.13, and 60.07).  i am wondering how i might be able to put the 58* into the bag considering that it may be a good option (with its bounce and the fact that im a digger) for chipping and pitching in wet spots on the course...and the 56* isnt my fav. club to chip with...

the 56 goes 110 and the 60 goes 100.  how far will the 58 go considering those distances?

Current wedge setup is: X20 PW 45.06 || CG14: 50.08 | 54.12 | 58.10

Until August, I carried 45, 50, and an XForged 56.14. Might end going back to this if the 4 wedges is too much hassle.

In past, I had bad luck with 60* LWs, but the 58 is easier to hit, and very helpful when I need to drop a "dart" onto a goofy pin placement.

Bounce shouldn't affect distance too much if it's a clean hit. For details on bounce and wedges, check out this Maltby link: http://www.ralphmaltby.com/50

Some teaching pros recommend a little variety in wedge bounce to give you flexibility on shot choice.

I'm playing with a 47* degree PW of my BH Apex FTX set and my CG14 52.10 and 56.11. I've been thinking of buying a 60* degree LW, but I already have 14 clubs in my bag, so I would have to drop either I3 or 22* degree hybrid, just can't decide which one I want to keep! I thought I could play a few rounds in the summer with 15 clubs on me and then look which club combination suits best for me. Any thoughts? What would you do in my position? I really love my i3 :D

    • Tale of two swings.  Swing 1: Slightly outside takeaway (hands move outside of target line) only to allow trail elbow over collapsing at P4. Doesn't take much to overdo it for the trail elbow collapse to only further exaggerate. That's death. Swing 2: Hands stay slight in at takeaway for a much better trail elbow condition at P4. This is a hard sell from an instinct perspective. More focus on un-weighting and re-weighting of lead foot to unlock a bit more mobility of hips and torso. A major flaw that creeps up often is me swinging flat footed and becoming overly armsy-collapsy as a result. Got reminded of this the hard way during my 2nd round match for club net championship. Was cruising along 2up until I made the turn. Then lost the swing for next five holes. Andy was playing good enough to capitalize. By the time I regained my swing on 16th, it was too late. Even Andy was like "That was a gift". Obviously that stings because have played well enough lately. Should have closed him out of the game comfortably with a few holes to spare. Shoulda woulda coulda. Tough lesson. Damn. P.S. I know the swings look very similar but trust me there is a difference.
