I do it strictly for the cardio.  I am not a big road bike person and probably never will be.  I lift weights and this cardio is better than running IMO. Those road bikes are CRAZY high!

There's no spin equivalent of doing reps of a steep climb, I don't get the same cardio/burn. I like changing gears, making turns, manipulating around other people, bikes.

Great forum, spin is wicked!! If you guys could check out this platform I made with classmate (business students from UCLA) it would be greatly appreciated. We love spin and other gym classes but had trouble finding classes that were cheap enough to regularly participate. We created a unique platform for getting the best classes for super cheap. It's working so far but only with a small sample of people (~20). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!! Also we have some pretty cool free shirts :) Let me know!

I have a cycleops spin bike in my living room. I use it everyday. It is convenient having it at home. Got home  at 1:00 am after a 7 hour drive. Did a 30 min spin workout, showered, drank a protein shake, then went to bed. I got to sleep in.

    • So, I haven't quit ...just taking a little winter siesta. I have been doing some Stack training and a little office carpet putting with the Pelz Putting Tutor. I'll see where I am in another 6 weeks or so and then maybe look for some instruction.
    • I think it is probably my lack of motivation to work out the past 8 months. I could tell it was starting to act up a bit. Like, one day I was getting some micro-spasms. Bowling just tipped it over the edge.  Its not the worst it has been. Moving around helps out. I just need to do some PT.
    • Day 52: 2/3/2025 I actually forgot to post yesterday even though I did some good stuff. That's my second miss since the streak started, but I think by the rules I'm okay.  Today I got to the range and worked my way through the bag. The range was crowded so I wasn't able to grab any video, maybe tomorrow. I'd like to send some to Yoda as I have another lesson with him the end of next week.  I spent a little bit of extra time with my new PXG Mini-driver.... I like it.
