The main reason I am excited for the release of the new R11 driver is because I love the finish on my Rossa Ghost. The white really does show up great. I have to believe that a white driver swing past your eyeball at 100+ mph would also show up better.

So aside from what ever technology improvements really or imagined that the new R11 may be touting the main reason I want one is the color.

well it dawned on me. My relatively new R9 fine, just has a few skyrocket marks on it. Why not paint it ghost white and see how I like swinging the driver in that color.

My Ghosted R9 is color matched Rossa Ghost white.

( dang, just uploaded the pics and they look horrible, over exposed cell phone pics

I will have to retake the pics at home with my good camera )

Good work.  I'm not too hyped up about the R-11 or the idea of a white driver.  I think that if I did get one though, I like the looks of what you did to the R-9 more than what the R-11 looks like.  If you were able to paint the "R" white to match the rest of the head I think that would look awesome!!

Not sure about doing the R in white but since it is easy to do I guess I can see if I like it.

I think I am going to paint fill the TaylorMade in white tonight so i might give it a try

I was just thinking the R in white because the Taylor Made and the 9 is in black.  If your doing Taylor Made in white, you could do the 9 white as well and then leave the R red, since I assume there is some red on the headcover....

You guys are kidding me, right?  You actually paint golf clubs to match a headcover?  Or paint an old club to match a new model?  Someone has way too much time on their hands!! : )

I'm not one for beating the heck out of golf clubs but I'm sure not gonna paint one : )

Don't take this serious, no arguing, not trying to be mean.....just throwing that out there.

And no bring other sports into this either.  You'll find that all my triathlon gear, including bike frame, wheels, aerobars, parts, and race outfits, including cycling shoes and running shoes, ALL match : )

You have your things, I have mine.  I would never try and paint a club myself or anything, but I just bought new Titleist irons, wedges, and a putter that I plan on having in my bag for a long tim, hopefully as long as my last set(close to 10 years).  Since that is the case, I'm taking my wedges and putter in to get all black paintfill, 3 clubs @ $5 per club.  My bag is black and white, my irons have only black paintfill on them, so I figured it wasn't a bad idea since it's winter and I'm bored with golf at the moment anyways....

No you have it all wrong, I bought the bag to match the ghost putter, and the head covers to match the bag, of course once I found the shoes it tied the whole ensemble together. Lmao.

LOL......................I'm not saying a word ! : )

You should checkout a web site called Slowtwitch.  Its basically a triathlon web site.  The forum is full of people posting pics of their bikes and gear and other forum members tearing them a new (insert bad word here) for things not matching.  All the way down to the tiny little aluminum ferrel that goes on the end of a shift cable.  If its not the right color to match the frame everyone gets all upset.  Its funny as hell.

My 3w and driver headcovers don't match : (  I suck at golf as a result : )

To each their own.  It's one thing to have things match, but it's a whole different story tearing down others because their stuff isn't right.  I prefer my stuff to match because it bothers me if it doesn't, a little ocd I guess, but I could care less what others do...

I painted one of my drivers w/ WSU Cougar colors and added decals, too ( see post here ).  Be warned, even though I used automotive paint and primer, I eventually got a hairline crack in the paint on the crown after several rounds and range sessions.  I've heard there is some kind of additive you can put in that makes the paint more elastic.

I don't get it.  Does that make me a slob because I have a generic black and gray cover for my Diablo driver (the easy off - easy on magnetic closure made it a no-brainer), stock Mizuno cover (mostly blue) for my 3W, and stock Bridgestone covers (also mostly blue) for my hybrids?  The driver cover does match my black and gray cart bag, but that was just an accident.

I've never painted a club in my life, nor do I ever expect to.

I think the white paint job looks great-but what does it matter how the driver head "shows up" during your swing.  You're not watching your driver head during your swing (at least, I hope you're not).  I have no qualms with the style of a white driver (or red, green, orange, whatever) but I cannot grasp any way in which it assists in hitting the ball.

I would not say it makes you a slop, leaving dirty dishes in the sink is the hallmark of a slob. Lol

I guess I will find out when I swing it. But I predict it shows up better then black What I am hoping for is a tracer of sorts of the milliseconds that the club head passes through the point of impact. Be nice to have a better visual indicator of the swing path. Obviously that is not going to allow for a change of the current ball being hit, but would be an additional indicator of the swing path allowing you to see your inside out or outside in path. If the white contrast against green for some reason doesn't show up better, well then it just looks cool.....lol
