Just found out about this event and I am looking forward to going. Anyone else going to this event? Has anyone been to it? If so, can you give me some info about how it is?

You just missed the Northcoast Golf show up in Schaumburg last week, but I think this one is  better. I didn't go to the Schaumburg event this year, but have attended it in the past.

The first time I went to this one, I noticed I was standing in the ticket line with a whole bunch of exceptionally well dressed  men and women , all looking curiously at the joker in jeans and sweatshirt. Aha, I was in line for a religious conference being held in the other side of the hall. Ooops. Out of there.

It's a hodgepodge. Some of your local courses might be there with booths with freebie coupons. You will probably see reps from the tourist boards of other styates. Useful for golf maps, etc. Lots of carpetbagger vendors selling clubs from 2010,2009, 2008 at prices that look good, until you realize there's no way to chase them down if a shaft snaps on you. I usually buy a wedge or two anyway. Lots of people buy golf balls there. You can get X-outs from the factory or stuff that's been under water. The BMW trophy is usually there and you can see all the names of the winners on it. Local pros are present and if you can wait the lines, you get a 5-10 minute lesson.

Anyway, it's not a high class show, but it can be interesting. Finally, you have to pay to park there.

I've never been to anything like it, so I'm excited to check it out. There's a lot of ball discounts and you get a sleeve of balls just for going. Well, I'll post in this thread once I go and see what it is.
