I'll bet there are hundreds of greens superintendents shaking their heads when they watch Fowler race a dirt bike through a bunker and on a green....just what we need...another suggestion planted in non-golfers who ride dirt bikes without thinking

Huh ? What exactly are you complainting about ? Do you seriouly think some dirt biker is going to go out to the course and try that because of the commercial ? Pretty sure society is well adapted to television not being realistic and clearly the commercial is meant as entertainment,

When a company makes a club in the USA I will proudly display their brand here. All of mine were made in china by somebody making $2 a day. Shame on you Mr club manufacture.

I also cringed when I saw the commercial.  When I was in high school, a friend of mine did donuts on the 18th green in his Ford Bronco.  The advertisers really wanted to display his motocross skills, but the greens should be left alone.

I will bet that somewhere in the USA in the next 6 months, a dirt bike will do damage on a green because of that commercial

Here is the reply to my question posed to the US Greens Superintendent's Assoc. from Jeff Bollig

Quote " In general, GCSAA takes the position that any commercial depiction of intentional acts damaging golf courses is inapporpriate. This particular ad is consistent with our stance."

I can see the NDA (National Dirtbike Association) coming out against this post with a new PSA campaign entitled..."Dirt bikes don't damage greens...people do."

Maybe the super's can have a commercial..."Now repair your ball marks and rake those bunkers!  No really, can you rake the bunker?  Even Ricky Fowler's caddy raked the bunker after that commercial, now what's your excuse?"

ROFL, that would be a really great answer!

I wonder how much the golf course was bunged for the ad. Can't believe the super in charge would have been in favor.

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
