I recently read this book and, while I enjoyed it, there were a few things that didn't make sense about his game.  For one thing, he describes his swing as flippy but says distance was one of his main assets . .how does somebody who flips have "tour distance"?  For another - how many 5 handicaps who've never won anything does Mizuno sponsor?  Maybe they sponsored him because he was writing a book but, if that was the case, he didn't say so directly.

Those types of things make me feel like he never really took the attempt seriously and made some stuff up as needed.  It was more of a book idea than a real attempt at going pro.  Still a good read, though.

i just ordered a copy of this book last night.  i had actually thought to myself before reading this thread (where someone pointed it out) that even though this guy missed the tour, it would seem he could've definitely still made a career of teaching golf.  i look forward to the read.
