Hello, my name is Eric. I have been playing golf for a while, but VERY sporadically (under 5 times a year). I have just recently had the funds and time to take the game more seriously. I love golf, and hate shooting the way I do. Golf is the most fun pain in the ass I have ever tried, and I am really hooked. I look forward to posting, and have enjoyed reading all of your posts for a couple of weeks now.

I just wanted to introduce myself, and say thanks for all the great threads I have read thus far and that I look forward to joining them in the future. At the moment I shoot around a 95, but I am working hard to bring that down.

welcome aboard eric!!!

work on your putting and that shave strokes right off your score..

Welcome Eric,

I am happy to read that you are becoming serious about the game. Like you I languished for years playing the occasional scramble for company functions. I decided to get serious two years ago. I was shooting between 120 and 140 and possessed the ugliest swing on the planet...... (my friends were in agony watching me swing) I made a plan and stuck to it.... First I purchased a set of KZG zero offset tour blades, I scheduled a set of 3 lessons with a pga pro set 3 weeks apart, then I committed myself to 100 balls a day on the range. I kept up this routine throughout an entire summer.

I played golf twice a week during the fall and once a week during the winter, I traded the blades for a set of KZG cavity forged irons the next spring and continued with lessons and rounds of golf... (now shooting in the 90's to low 100's) My next step was a new set of wedges and a lesson with my pro on how to use the wedges, I then practiced 3 times per week with the wedges and my scores dropped to the low 90's.

next step I sold the cavity back irons and had a set of KZG evolution irons fitted for me I now shoot in the 80's consistently and posted an 82, 83, 85 in a row this past summer.

I just bought a new driver (fitted) re-shafted my 5 wood (hitting from the short grasss is key..... I was inspired by Tiger at the Open Championship) and ordered a putter that fits me better than my old one does.

my goal is to break 80 this winter....

hang in there Eric and welcome to the world of golf addicts.
