Is anyone here familiar with the Natural Golf method? I just got a set of irons on eBay that came with the Natural Golf grips and after looking into their website was intrigued. My question now is, as a beginner, should I get a set of Natural Golf grips for my woods as well and learn this swing or am I better off just regripping my irons with standard grips and taking a more traditional approach?

You must work very hard to become a natural golfer.

Every method has its plusses and minuses. Natural Golf is supposed to have been an offshoot of Moe Norman's swing, and Moe is perhaps the best ball striker that ever lived.

But it's an odd swing, and Moe wasn't long (he was longer than amateurs of course, but compared to his pro peers, he wasn't, if you know what I mean), and you might have trouble finding an instructor nearby.

But I'm a big fan of doing the research and seeing what you like, so do the research and see if you like it. It worked for Moe, and Jerry Foltz used it when he was on the Nationwide Tour...

I've been working on this method with very good results. Haven't lost a bit of distance, perhaps gained a few, coming off of stack and tilt. Laser straight balls when hit properly. I became interested in Moe's swing as I heard this swing was easier on my back. It is.

Graves Golf Academy is also teaching the swing:

Also don't worry about regripping to try the swing out. If you like it, you can always work with your own grips and/or add a few wraps of tape under a normal grip where your bottom hand goes. Natural Golf is real product oriented...

    • I listened to it today and I’m very proud of this one. Normally when I do something I am only critical of the things that I could have or should have done better and on this one I really didn’t have a list at all. I’m very pleased with how this interview went and the information shared and the way it was shared and everything. #65 - Digging into the Data Between Pro’s & Amateur’s Swings — Fit For Golf Erik Barzeski, a highly renowned golf coach joins the show to discuss some of the key differences between pro... You can find it on Spotify or Apple podcasts or elsewhere of course but that link will also work. Please give a listen and let me know what you think. And trust me, if you have something critical, that’s good too. That’s generally actually what I want to hear about. 😜
    • Day 9: Worked on shots from 40 yards and in focusing on keeping my weight forward. Thanks to the grass length in the backyard, I got a lot of practice from heavy rough.
    • Did a comparison and really liked being able to “feel” the putter head with the lighter setup. I’m going to do more testing as the greens I putted on were extremely slow and I want to have more results with varied green speeds before I would make a move. I’m going to start looking for something between the two as they are completely different sides of the spectrum. I’m a little concerned that I would need to be on with the blade and a mallet would be able to provide more forgiveness on the bad days. More to come.
