I had a high school student challenge me to hit a few balls off my knees with my driver.

I tried and failed miserably - hitting at least a foot behind my ball.

He said a college coach taught this drill to check out something about his swing.

Anybody know what it was?

I specifically use this shot off the tee in gale force wind and punching out from under trees.

well there was this one: http://thesandtrap.com/forum/thread/43750/golfdotz-badass-on-clubs , where the title originally read "golfdotz: suck on balls, kick ass on clubs."

But I also just caught the off your knees part of the inuenndo...i was stuck on the balls part.  Pretty funny stuff haha.

He did'nt tell you? If you swing with your shoulders "OTT" you will hit the ground behind the ball. You have to rotate your hips/core to be able to hit the ball.

Funny I saw this thread!

So I was warming up for my round on Monday on the range and a few yards away an instructor was giving this guy a lesson. The drill he setup was hitting a tee'd up ball off his knees with his driver. I have no idea why really, maybe a plane deal but whatever. So the guy hits the first one, second one, third ONE..............SNAP

Brand new R11 shaft snaps as he hits the ground behind the ball.

Classic.

$50 Golf Lesson costs you a new shaft for your new R11!
