New Blades or Old Blades?

Im in the market for clubs and i have been playing with hogan medallion clubs, im looking for a blade set but not sure which to choose. I have a set of old Jack Nicklaus Heritage Blades and that will save me money all i have to do is change the shafts and grips but should i do that or just go out and buy a new set? Is technology that advanced now to change the blades?

If your handicap is really a 15, I would look at alternatives to blades.....look at some game improvement irons, or even split cavities

Not sure which is creepier: your location or your profile photo. You sound like a Big Bertha sort of guy, but seriously though, if you want easy to hit blades that can be found relatively cheaply, look for something newer, but discontinued. Like Mizunos from the 90s, Hogans from the late 80s, ~ 8-15 year old Clevelands, stuff like that. Just be careful not to get something with negative bounce (e.g. 1994 Apex) since they, well, they suck.

ha thanks but i forgot to change my handicap thing it is actually a 10 but i have more problems with my driver than my irons, i need something sweet but cheap, the blades i have i think are from the 80's .....would u lik me to change my picture...haha dont let the headband deceive you, im actually a good golfer haha

What sort of player are you? Are you playing for fun and just like the way a set of blades looks in a golf bag? Or are you trying to make the best shots you can and shoot the lowest scores possible? Maybe somewhere in between? I know a lot of people just recommend what's in their signature, but I highly recommend the Cleveland TA1s. The leading edge is just rounded enough that they don't dig, but still allow you to cut through the turf. They're a fairly fairly thin head and don't have that "buttery soft" feeling the Mizuno guys rave about (I know this by comparing them to my old Mizunos), but they do have all the important blade characteristics. They're easy to control distance on partial shots (especially around the green), they're suitable for any turf condition, the sole has just enough heel to toe curve (rocker?) that you can hit from a variety of lies without the toe or sole digging, and they're rather pleasant to look at.

im the type of player who plays 4, 5 times a week for a team and just play for scores and for tournaments. I need like a soft feel but will work well around the greens. But thanks for the recommendations , i will highly consider those clevelands

I recommended them based on scoring. I also picked up the cavity back version (TA3s) off ebay and I'm considering putting together a combo set at some point.

lets just say about 102 but i have a very fast swing speed with my driver only and about medium with my irons

My advice would be to first not limit yourself to only blades.

Citing that at my handicap I'm playing full-cavities.  Any places near you have a used club selection you could test out?

i have cavity backs, muscle backs, blades and everyother type of iron in my room im just looking for something with more distance and better feel at a low cost but i am testing out my old blades sat and testing other ones out and no there is not a place around me where i can test used clubs it sucks
