I currently use, and love, my Scotty Newport Studio Select. Yet on very sunny days, I am blinded by the glare. And they no longer make their black, or dark, Circa 62. I am looking at getting the Ping, or Nike Method, or Cleveland. Yet they all now have inserts, whatever they are made of. Is there an advantage of using these over the non-insert putter faces? Or is it feel, personal preference?  I know I can take a black marker and color the top of my Scotty or use tape. Yet I wouldn't mind another putter anyway. Any one use the new Nike Method Core and has opinions?

Personal preference, different inserts have different feel as do different balls with the same insert.. You could always have your putter refinished.
