My cousin was married and I've taken advantage of the one year rule with wedding gifts.  With summer approaching, I want to buy him a new set of irons.  He is very new to the game, but has been out to the range and course several times.  His occupation is professional and as such, he will often find himself playing with clients, etc.  I don't know if he'll ever get serious about the game, but I see him playing 5-10 times a year.

Suggestion on decent GI iron set that would cost me $300-350?  I want to go new, but can be late model.  He is 6' 2", so it has to be something that I can order with longer shafts.  Thanks-

Browse GlobalGolf.com...they have some excellent 'open box' deals or 'mint' condition clubs that are spot on and are sometimes already customized (in this case probably .75" long and 1* upright) i got my set of '09 burners marked as 'mint' late in the year they came out...i paid $424 shipped and were already customized to my specs (SERIOUS luck there). Best of luck, definitely a great idea!

I have recommended Callaway X-22's several times in such threads, LOL. I don't work for Callaway, and the only piece of Callaway equipment I own is a windshirt. I have hit these and they just feel like a great club for a casual golfer, and since the new Razr's came out, there are some great deals on new X-22's--in your price range at some some of the big golf retailers.

Probably the cheapest Game Improvement type irons that can be custom ordered would be the Cobra S3 Max.

They go for $399 and a very nice looking club in my opinion.

I nearly bought the S2 max back in January but opted for TM Burner Plus irons instead because they fit my swing better on the simulator.

Downside were the Burner Plus are a 2008/09 club and were no longer customizable.  So I spent about $90 in getting them cut down, regripped and lie adjustment.

Another option if you dont want to spend alot of money is go the clone route.

For a causal player these would suffice.

Try www.gigagolf.com

You can put his specs in and they will customize them for him.
