I see why tiger woods is changing his short game shots.  If you have a one peice takeaway and a connected full swing, then it would be better to have a one peice pitching swing.  if you just throw your hands back and behind you in your pitching motion, that feeling can carry over into the full swing and cause some major inconsistencies.

the other thing that i think goes with this is whether to have an open stance or square stance.  id think an open stance could lead to the club getting behind you too much and that could lead to inconsistencies in the full swing.

any thoughts on this?

Most good pitchers and chipper of the ball maintain the "triangle" and move the club back with the shoulders and chest. As far as an open stance, most use this to preset the left hip in a somewhat "cleared" position...the important thing is that the shoulders remain square to the traget line
