Is it bad to have two different putting grips depending on distance? When i am within 7-10 feet of the hole i am much better with "the claw" style of putting but when its over about 10 feet im better with the normal putting grip. Should i just choose i grip and only use that or is it good to use two?

I would stick with just 1 grip.  No need making putting more complicated than it already is.  If you need a little more ooomph for lag putts, just add in a little wrist hinge.

It is rare but not unheard of for a good player to do this.  Espcially right handed golfers who use left hand low for short putts  and conventiaonal grip on long putts.

I would definitely recommend using one grip. You should use the same tempo on any putt, it's just the take-away back and through is longer for distance putts. If you feel most comfortable using the claw for short putts, i'd try to make the long putts work with that grip as well - in the long run you will be more consistent.
